We are a group of Doctor of Physical Therapy students at MGH Institute of Health Professions who are passionate about sharing the therapeutic benefits of yoga and chose to focus our doctoral Capstone project on doing just that!
Ashley DeBarros received her Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is currently in her second year as a Doctor of Physical Therapy candidate at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She is currently completing a clinical rotation at Baystate Physical Therapy in Kingston. When she is not in class, Ashley enjoys going to concerts, cooking and exploring everything that Boston has to offer. She is looking forward to expand her yoga knowledge with apaPTed Yoga!
Bayley LeCours is currently a second year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY in 2016. In undergrad, she completed her senior thesis on The Accuracy of Activity Monitors (Fitbit, Garmin, etc). She completed her first full-time clinical at Lahey Clinic Outpatient PT in Danvers, MA and other clinical rotations at Massachusetts General Hospital and Emerson Hospital Center for Rehabilitative and Sports Therapies.
Danielle Nardi is currently a second year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at MGH Institute of Health Professions and a 200-hour vinyasa trained yoga teacher specializing in teaching adapted yoga and yoga for athletes. Danielle has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Quinnipiac University and spent 10 years working in event presentation in professional sports before returning to school to to pursue a career in physical therapy.
Danielle believes that everyone can benefit from yoga and looks forward to sharing this passion and working to make yoga accessible to everyone through adaPTed Yoga! Alexandra Nasser is currently a second-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at MGH Institute of Health Professions. She is originally from Miami, Florida and completed her undergraduate studies in American Studies at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She moved to Boston to begin her graduate studies and enjoys trail running, cycling, cooking vegetarian cuisine and exploring Boston.
She is looking forward to teaching meditation at adaPTed Yoga. She was introduced to meditation by her family four years ago and since then has made the practice an integral part of her daily life. She is excited to teach the skills of mindfulness and meditation and believes this practice can enhance the physical and mental well-being of everyone.
